Outbound From Australia
The following information gives you some details regarding the general nature of a study tour and covers the processes between making an application and the groups departure. Participants should remember that they are an ambassador for their country, their school and community. What is the purpose of a study tour? The purpose of the outbound study tour program is to expose group members to another culture through a combination of homestay, excursions, school and community interaction. Often, group members will also have the opportunity to improve their language skills. At Koo-ee Experience we hope that group members will return with an increased interest in foreign languages and culture, a greater sense of independence and a broader knowledge of the world. What will the group do while in their host community? Group members will live with host families during their time in their host community and participate in the lives of their host brothers and sisters. They participate in school classes, take part in after-school activities and visit places of historical, cultural and scenic interest in and around the host community. In addition, group members will have meals and spend time with their host family and are encouraged to participate in family life as a new family member. How is the tour organised?
Koo-ee Experience works with overseas partners who will represent the hosting community and assist us in the processes of organising each study tour. These include such things as host family placement, preparation of the itinerary in the host community and local support. Generally, preparation for an outbound tour should begin at least 12 months in advance of the departure date. This allows group members and families time to prepare for such things as passports, visas (if applicable) and payment of the trip.
